U.S. Housing chief says that mortgage rates will fall
Interest rates on typical home loans continue to fall to record lows. After a recent White House press event, announcing President Obama's plans to rescue the housing market, HUD Secretary Shawn Donovan said they will continue come down.

Families in 157 out of 175 Connecticut municipalities do not earn enough income to qualify for to purchase a home at the median sales price in their town.

In New Haven, 22% of the population lives below the poverty, earning less than $28,000 per year. 70% of the housing stock is renter-occupied with over 60% of rents over $750 per month.
